WHAT AM I WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

My most current in-progress project!

Senior Capstone

Of Her, The Divine

This project centers Black women as sources of divinity, authority, and meaning instead of just symbols shaped by external narratives and stereotypes. By creating Black goddesses, the project challenges historical exclusions of Black women from divine representation in fine art. Strength, beauty, and soul are presented as fundamental and interconnected, not exaggerated or performative. This piece is intended for Black women and just women overall seeking meaningful representation, as well as broader audiences, encouraging viewers to think about how power, femininity, and divinity are visually constructed.

A look into the evolution of my three goddesses: Araya, Goddess of Beauty (left), Kemara, Goddess of Strength (right), and Nyre, Goddess of Soul (center). This gallery follows the progression of the piece—from early sketches exploring their energy and form to a more refined composition layered with cultural detail and intention.
